Block Island School

An important email was just sent about the Block Island School fire sprinkler system. The State Deputy Fire Marshal has said that we can attend school tomorrow. The administration and staff will take all of the necessary precautions tomorrow to maintain safety for everyone. For more info, please read the email.

The Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation this morning, Thursday November seventeenth. We are having technical difficulties with the electric bus charging station. We will update you as soon as possible about tomorrows transportation.

Tomorrow, Tuesday November fifteenth, the Block Island School will resume morning transportation. We are hopeful we resolved the charging problem . If we continue to have the same difficulties in the morning, we will let you know.

Job Opportunity

Happy Veterans Day. This time of year, before holiday weekends, we have our challenges with the ferry schedule aligning with school dismissal. This Thursday, November tenth, the Block Island School will have an early dismissal at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, November second, the Block Island School will resume morning transportation. We will not be providing afternoon transportation yet. Also, thank you to all the families and students for making the new drop off and pick up procedures safer today.

Tomorrow, Friday October twenty-eighth. the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation in the morning or afternoon due to technical difficulties with the charging station. We will send more information about transportation next week as soon as possible.

Tomorrow, Monday October twenty fourth, The Block Island School will be able to provide morning transportation only. We will not be providing afternoon transportation yet. It is very important for you to review the adjusted bus route in the Community Update that was emailed Friday or the one we will email tonight.

Tomorrow, Wednesday October nineteenth. Thursday October twentieth and Friday October twenty first, the Block Island School will not have transportation. We do expect to have morning transportation only, starting on Monday October twenty fourth. We will send more information as soon as possible.

The electric bus arrived on Saturday and the we are hoping that the charging station will be commissioned on Tuesday. We will provide more information as soon as possible.

Tomorrow, Thursday October thirteenth, and Friday October fourteenth, the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation. We are excited that the Electric Bus will be delivered on Saturday, October 15th at noon. Please come to the school to celebrate the new bus. Light refreshments will be served.

Tomorrow, Wednesday October twelfth, the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation. The new electric bus is scheduled to arrive at the school this Saturday October fifteenth at noon. A celebration and light refreshments will be served.

Tomorrow, Tuesday October eleventh, the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation. We are hopeful that with additional seating installed in the minibus, transportation will resume this week. The new electric bus is scheduled to arrive in the following week. Our Middle School Girls Cross Country Team (Grades 6-8) had their first meet yesterday. Out of 70 Runners Kierra Closter came in 2nd. Carina Berry came in 26th Abigail Willi came in 30th Elizabeth Evans came in 31st

Tomorrow, Friday October seventh, the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation. We are working on two options for a bus but neither have become available at this time. When we have more information, we will share it with the school community.

Tomorrow, Thursday October sixth, the Block Island School will not be able to provide morning or afternoon transportation. We are close to securing the bus and driver we need to resume busing as soon as Friday morning. When we have more information, we will share it with the school community.

Tomorrow, Wednesday October fifth, the Block Island School will not be able to provide transportation in the morning or the afternoon. We are currently investigating a local solution for the bus driver shortage. As soon as we have more information, we will share it with the school community.
